On August 9th, one of our beloved bus drivers, Trenice Johnson, was hospitalized at Olathe Medical Center for nearly a week due to a medical emergency and is now at home working through her recovery steps in hopes she can return to driving her route for the school and kids she cares so much for. On Friday, September 6th, the Central Heights Cross Country team will be hosting a baked goods benefit and accepting donations at the first home Football game versus Jayhawk Linn in which 100% of the money collected will go to Trenice and her husband to help cover the cost of medical expenses and lost time from work. We ask that you please join us and help in any way that you can to support one of our dedicated and wonderful Viking family members who has been taking care of kids in our district for what is now 40 years and counting!

Today the 9th graders received their first counseling lesson on the topic of communication. Students were challenged to recreate a photo receiving only verbal instruction, then discussed parallels and pitfalls to communication in our everyday lives. What a great group to work with!

Good evening, Please see the attached chart which is a wet bulb reading chart. We have been issued a device from KSHSAA that allows us to take the readings right here on campus! We check everyday at 3:00 right before practice starts. We know how important our student athletes safety and health are! We will be practicing in the mornings for the next several days for outdoor practices. Volleyball will be on their normal schedule. So please be on the lookout for information from your coaches. If you have any questions email jbrown@usd288.org Keep drinking those liquids!!! And always GO VIKINGS!!
