This past weekend, Central Heights proudly sent 15 students to Manhattan to participate in the 32nd Annual Kansas State Honor Band Clinic. Upon arrival on Friday, students competed against 600 other musicians from 60 different schools for chair placement in one of six bands, including the prestigious Top Band. All of our students achieved excellent chair placements, with two of them, Russell Reed and Alyssa Welch, earning spots in the Top Band!
Rehearsals began Friday evening for all bands, continued throughout the day and evening on Saturday, and concluded with a final rehearsal on the main stage Sunday morning. The weekend culminated in an incredible concert performance Sunday afternoon.
In addition to their hard work, the students enjoyed some classic Manhattan experiences, including a visit to Call Hall for ice cream, doughnuts from the Varsity Food Truck, and a delicious supper at Nico’s Little Italy in Aggieville. The weekend was filled with building friendships, creating lasting memories, and enhancing their musical skills.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!
Participating Students:
Russell Reed (Top Band), Alyssa Welch (Top Band), Riley Sprinkle, Paige Powell, Karley Davis, Alayna Fallis, Jenna Jumet, Arabella Dunbar, Hannah Matile, Benjamin Wuertz, Mathew Dunbar, Knox Cannady, Brooks Hamilton, Alyssa Powell, and Ebony Hughes

After cold weather and a snow packed playground, students in 4th grade were excited to finally get outside this week! After recess time, they enjoyed a little "snow" time...here are the results! 🤣❄️🧊

Good luck to our Viking wrestlers at Louisburg today! Compete strong and give it your all!
